The Sportsheets Restraint System Will Fulfil All Your Bondage Dreams

The Sportsheets Restraint System Will Fulfil All Your Bondage Dreams

Thanks to 50 Shades, there are a lot couples getting stuck in bondage rope and chafing their wrists in metal handcuffs. You need the proper bondage equipment to prevent yourself from an embarrassing trip to the ER. The Sportsheets Under The Bed Restraint System (around $50 at its cheapest in Australia) is the perfect tool for the job.

The Specs

The Sportsheets Under The Bed Restraint System is a bondage kit that helps you strap your partner to the bed and keep them there! It comes with three long straps shaped like a sideways capital H. The middle connector strap goes under the bed, straight down the middle from the foot of the bed to the headboard. Each of the four “arms” are pulled out and placed on the top corners of the mattress. All of the straps are fully adjustable, so they can fit on any size bed.

The set also comes with four soft cuffs that have Velcro closures. They can be used on both hands and ankles. The cuffs can be clipped to the four ends of the straps.

It’s a somewhat difficult contraption to describe in words, so check out the video above for a demonstration (and some rocking intro music).

What I Loved

It’s smart. Ever had the experience of tying up your partner’s wrists, only to realise you had nothing to tie the other end to? Not a very suave move. The Sportsheet Restraint System solves this perfectly. Setup is a total breeze, and you can leave it in place when not in use (just tuck the straps under the mattress or behind your headboard if you ever have guests).

It’s versatile. You can use the cuffs on just your partner’s wrists, or just their ankles, or you can put your partner in full spread-eagle. The fact that you can hook and unhook the cuffs creates even more possibilities, like flipping your partner over, or tying them up on their hands and knees at the foot of the bed. You can even hook two cuffs to each other to make a regular pair of handcuffs. The adjustable straps make it easy to get a tighter or looser hold on your partner, making it a solid choice for shy newbies and more experienced pros. It doesn’t take up a lot of space either, so you can even travel with it!

It’s safe. You won’t have to fiddle with handcuff keys, or struggle to undo a knot that’s been pulled way too tight. If your partner needs to be released immediately, all you need to do is un-velcro the cuffs (they can even wriggle out themselves if you keep the Velcro fastened loosely). The cuffs themselves are also quite comfortable, and won’t cause any sort of chafing or burning.

It’s a company worth supporting. Sportsheets founder Tom Stewart and his product development team spend a significant amount of time trying to improve the sex lives of veterans injured in war. His team has created special sling and pulley devices that allow paraplegics and quadriplegics to have intercourse with their partners. On a press release in his page, Stewart writes,

“One of the issues that came up for quadriplegics and paraplegics who were able to have intercourse with their partner, was that the young men longed to be able to have sex on top of their wives in the missionary position… It wasn’t just sex, it was the reconnection, the intimacy that they were not able to achieve, since the injury… As a hopeful solution, we designed a sling that allows a quadriplegic or a paraplegic to hover over his spouse in a Superman flying position and have intercourse in the missionary position… Dealing with an injured spouse is stressful enough. When it comes to the effect it has on their sex lives it can be devastating for a couple. To get a small piece of their former sex life back is a huge gain for these couples that had thought that they would never be able to have intercourse or be in an intimate position like the missionary position again.”

He’s absolutely right: veterans have so many other things to worry about. Intimacy shouldn’t have to be one of them.

What I Didn’t Like

Since the straps are only anchored by the weight of your mattress, they do allow for some amount of movement, especially with the arms. If you’re looking to truly be immobilized, this probably isn’t the kit for you.

Who Should Buy It

This is an awesome pick for your first experiment with restraints. Even if you’re not sure if you’ll be into bondage, it’s a pretty minimal investment at around $50. You might have to do some looking, as several local online stores we checked were out of stock, though Shop Erotic seems to have it.

It’s also great for anyone who doesn’t have much privacy. It’s so easy to hide this kit: just slip all of the straps under the bed. You don’t even have to worry about a nosy roommate snooping through your bedside table for evidence of your perversions.

The Final Verdict

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be tied up, I’d give the Sportsheets Under The Bed Restraint System a whirl. It’s thrilling to be at someone else’s mercy (in a safe, pre-planned way, of course!), and the versatility of the product allows you to experiment with different levels of restraint. Bondage can seem intimidating to some newbies, but this kit is easy to set up and fun to use. It’s a minimal investment for trying something new in the bedroom, and it’s awesome to support a company that helps wounded veterans experience intimacy again!
