Winter is nearly over. If you’re not a fan of spring, you can keep the icy mornings alive with this linux desktop. It’s crisp, refreshing and easy to set up. Here’s how to replicate the look.
It’s been a little while since we featured a linux desktop, but this one’s a looker. Its creator is running Apricity OS, a distribution of Arch Linux. It’s pretty easy to set up, too. If you want to duplicate the look, here’s what you’ll need:
- The Tunnel View, Yosemite wallpaper, photographed by Robbie Shade
- Conky, a lightweight system monitor for Linux systems
- The Conky-Tomorrow theme for Conky
- The Arctic Apricity GNOME shell theme
- The Dash to Dock GNOME extension for the dock launcher at the bottom of the screen
- The Numix Circle icon pack
- The Vimix Icon Theme for the status icons
The end result is pretty sharp looking, and we’ve seen some great linux desktops before. If you’re customising your own and have questions, need help getting everything looking right, or just want to tell apagajewski how much you like his work, head over to his Flickr page (linked below) and let him know we sent you!
