‘ExcuseMe’ Translates 200 Useful Travel Phrases

Part of the fun of travelling to a foreign place is learning the language. Even if you’re not fluent, it helps to keep some useful phrases in your back pocket. ExcuseMe is a free app that makes sure you’re prepared.

Available in English, Spanish, French, Chinese and Japanese, the app includes about 200 travel phrases in various categories: flight, taxi, airport, restaurants, etc. No registration is required. Download the app for the language you want, choose a category, and you’ll get a full list of phrases you can listen to, read, and copy.

It’s useful for practising the language, but if you’re in a sticky situation, you can also use the app to translate, as it uses your phone’s speaker. Plus, there are phrases you might not even think to learn before you leave. If you lose your luggage, for example, the app tells you how to say that in your language of choice.
