Build A Modern Bookcase Using A Single Sheet Of Plywood

Shopping for timber to build furniture can be confusing and time consuming, but this modern style bookcase is built using a single sheet of plywood.

To make this bookcase, you’ll need a table saw (a circular saw with a guide will work), drill press (or drill), sander, square, level, clamps and mallet. This builder also made a dowel hole jig using the scrap plywood that allows him to quickly drill the exact same holes used to join each board.

There are no screws or fasteners used to attach the shelves, just dowels and wood glue. After you’ve cut all of your pieces, make sure you stain or paint the pieces before you assemble them and allow them time to properly dry.
