We’re a family of 4 and we aim to eat together every night. I’d say we achieve 95% success rate. We also tend to eat breakfast together most morning too (well, with the exception of my husband who isn’t the bounce of out bed and get breakfast right away kind of guy).
I’d say a lot of the reasons why we manage to eat together most of the time comes down to two factors. Firstly, I telecommute. So I have the luxury of being able to prepare a meal during the day and I can also finish work and walk straight into the kitchen. Secondly, my kids are still young so they’re not involved in lots of after school activities.
My family’s scattered such that getting more than two of us together in one place at all requires a lot of work. All four for dinner is a special occasion.
I don’t often have family meals.
I’m usually full after eating the mother, and will leave the father and children for another meal.
Ladies first eh?
I am a gentleman, after all.
Besides, the tougher meat needs to marinate for a bit, and the small ones are perfect for dessert.
