DIY blog ManMade explains how you can turn an empty lip balm case into a weather-resistant, nondescript storage tube with a screwdriver and a pair of wire cutters. Simply pry off the knob on the bottom and clip the threaded shaft off. This is also a good opportunity to clean out any remaining lip balm. Snap the knob back on and you’re done.
Of course, the obvious problem with this method is that many of us lose our lip balm anyway. Hopefully, if you’ve got a $20 note in that tube, you’ll be motivated to keep track of it a little better. Then maybe you’ll learn to not lose your actual lip balm so much, either. It’s a win-win.
