20% off something that’s had 40% off of it doesn’t equal 60% off.
It may be an additional 20% off the original purchase price, which works out better anyway. Someone care to test?
If something cost $100 and it is 40% off that’s $40 off = $60. Then 20% off that is $12. So $60 – $12 is $48. If it was just 60% off it would end up being $40.
So it doesn’t work out better and isn’t 60% off.
