Keep Your Coffee Warm by Priming Your Mug With Hot Water

A hot cup of coffee in the morning hits the spot, but if it cools down to room temperature, it’s not the same. Keep your brew warm by priming your mug with hot water.

If you’re a fan of a hot cuppa, you can keep it warm a little longer by preheating the mug. The Art of Manliness suggests:

Warming up your mug will not only keep your coffee warmer a bit longer, it will heat your fingers as well. It’s as simple as sloshing some hot water in the mug (I often boil some extra water in the morning for this very purpose), or even just throwing it into the microwave for 20 seconds or so (empty of course — no microwaving your coffee!).

It’s kind of like freezing a beer mug. It’s obviously not going to stay at that temperature for hours, but it will prolong it for a bit.
