Two of our favourite food sites, The Kitchn and Serious Eats, explain the many reasons why you shouldn’t dine out on Valentine’s Day. Here’s their reasoning, but will this convince you?

Both sites explain that Valentine’s Day is a particularly stressful and chaotic time for the restaurant staff, with the tables broken up differently, possibly less competent and more frustrated staff willing to work that night, and menu items made more expensive, since couples tend to be more willing to spend big on that night.
Their advice: Dine out some other night for better service and a better experience.
That makes sense, but it won’t stop many people from wanting the full Valentine’s Day experience. So we’re wondering: do you have Valentine’s Day reservations?

My issue is that we like to dine out regardless, especially on Friday nights, so it’s just annoying that it turns into such a mess and we can’t do what we normally like to do.
There’s no, I’m cooking for my partner whilst wearing “just” an apron option!
