The Lifehacker Awards 2014 nominations continue. This afternoon, we want to know: which bank do you prefer?
Whether you’re happy with one of the big four, choose a smaller regional bank or go credit union, there are lots of options. Tell us who deserves to be on our shortlist in the comments.
Throughout this week, we’ll be asking for your nominations in additional categories relating to technology, organisation and productivity. Keep visiting the site every day to see when you can nominate your favourites, and make sure you’re back when voting starts on Monday 1 December.

can I nominate the Reserve Bank for keeping interest rates on hold?
I’m pleased with both ANZ’s and CBA’s dividend performance.
Definitely CBA. The only bank who seem willing to adopt, and even pioneer new technology
LOL reserve bank 😛
I vote for Peoples Choice Credit Union
I’ve considered moving away to one of the big 4 a few times, but this small organisation just keeps on giving – they are very competitive and the terms of their high interest savings account (3.61% so long as you deposit at least $50 a month and no withdrawing) is a lot better than most of the banks, even though some offer the same interest, you have to deposit a lot more a month to get the bonus. Their unlimited EFTPOS + unliimited rediteller ATM plan is $6 a month, and you can get that waived (I’m going to look into that)
Great little financial institution that.
ING Direct. 0 fees, 2% or 5% rebate for PayWave purchases under $100, free ATM withdrawals at ANY ATM, good mobile apps (including windows phone), good online banking functionality, super customer service.
Also Savings Maximiser with 4% interest if you deposit a certain amount.
+1 for ING – ive literally made about $200-300 since being with ING with the paywave rebate and being able to use any ATM for free is awesome.
PN Bank. Good products with low rates and owned by its members.
CBA, but why can’t the BIGGEST BANK write a mobile/app that works in landscape?
Would have to be either Sealey or Sleepmaker 😉
This one’s a joke question right?
Definitely Commbank for their revamped iOS app released earlier this year. Worst bank goes to ANZ for their horrible customer service.
Best bank has to be Suncorp for their customer service where I get to speak to someone who understands English and tries to help me as best they can when I ring up
Worse bank has to be ANZ, for their indifferent customer service, expensive products and rubbish long wait times on the phone. Thank god I’ve left them.
1, CBA – Cardless Cash, good apps, saved our butts on a mortgage when one of the online lenders proved to be dunderheaded about ACT land law.
2, Bendigo Bank – They sponsor the Geelong VFL team, and assisted Geelong during tough times.
3, ING – Good suite of products. Paywave rebate.
