iOS 8.1 Will Bring Back Camera Roll, Adds iCloud Photo Library

At Apple’s big iPad launch event today, the company gave a quick preview of iOS 8.1, which will bring a few new features: iCloud Photo Library and the return of the Camera Roll.

iOS 8.1 will roll out Tuesday 21 October in Australia. iCloud Photo Library will be in public beta, allowing you to store your iPhoto library online with iCloud. It will follow iCloud’s normal pricing scheme, with 5GB for free, 20GB for $1.29 per month, 200GB for $4.99 per month, and more tiers up to 1TB.

iOS 8.1 will also bring back Camera Roll, showing your most recent photos together (though it may not be the exact same view as iOS 7 and before).

In the US, it will also come with support for Apple Pay, but that doesn’t have an Australian release date yet.
