Take A Few Seconds To Meditate Before You Pick Up The Phone

Meditation can be very beneficial, but most of us struggle to find the time. Next time the phone rings, take a few breaths before you answer.

Over at Inc. they have got some “stealth” meditation tips from Sharon Salzberg. One tip is to use the phone as a cue to be mindful of your actions. They explain:

“Don’t pick up the phone on the first ring. Let it ring three times and breathe, and then you pick it up.” Why? “We’re trying to interject moments throughout the workday where we come back to ourselves, come back to this moment.

We often try to pick up the phone on the first ring and aren’t always prepared for the call. Those rings cue you to deeply inhale and exhale. One focused, purposeful breath is all you need for a mini-meditation session. The more your phone rings, the more you’ll need a bit of grounding in your day.
