Mix Creates Your Own Custom Filters For Photos

Android: The right filter can make your photos look better than they are and get a lot of reactions. But if you aren’t happy with the filters Instagram gives by default, you can create your own with a new, free app called Mix.

Mix lets you select a photo from the gallery or take one with your camera. Just like Instagram, you will need to crop it into a square. Choose from the preset filters or apply none, and then start fiddling around to make your own. Options include:

  • Filters (115 presets)
  • Level
  • Skin
  • Sharpen
  • Temperature
  • Tone
  • Exposure
  • Contrast
  • Vibrance
  • Saturation
  • Highlights
  • Shadows
  • Vignette
  • Center Light
  • Blur
  • Textures (over 40 available)
  • Tint (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, violet, magenta)

Make the the photo look just the way you want and you can save it or save the formula you just made. The next time you use the app, that formula will show up as a ready-made filter.

Right now, Mix is only available for Android, but it’s coming soon to iOS too.
