View Your Annoyances As Project Opportunities At Work

No job is without its share of annoyances. While most of us tend to groan, sigh and move on with our day, those moments of frustration may actually be golden opportunities calling to you.

Business blog Inc uses examples of companies that were built to solve common problems. While most of us won’t need to start an entire corporation just to fix a small problem, the principle remains the same: if you and other people are annoyed by the same problem, you can gain recognition or even compensation by fixing it.

Obviously, new companies are revolutionizing their industries every day, but these are examples of companies that weren’t concerned with developing groundbreaking ideas to make a name for themselves. Instead, they took basic tasks that had become nuisances for companies like mine and uncomplicated them.

Of course, this mindset can cut both ways. Many employers love employees that do extra work without compensation and it’s easy to get lost under a pile of extra work you’re not getting compensated for. However, if you’re looking for a side gig or want to get noticed for a promotion/raise, one of your best bets is to stop sighing and start fixing.
