Elmnts Plays Ambient Sounds For Better Productivity Even While Offline

Chrome: If you want the buzz of a cafe or the sounds of the ocean while working, but don’t have bandwidth to spare, Elmnts is a minimalistic Chrome extension that does it all offline.

We’ve already established how cafe buzz is good for creativity, and there are a few websites like Noisli that endlessly stream such ambient sounds to boost your productivity. But they require internet connectivity, which might not always be available, or you might be on a slow connection and don’t want to waste bandwidth on this. Elmnts is the solution.

The app has six sounds available by default: rain, fire, water fountain, forests and birds, ocean, and cafe buzz. Click one or multiple at the same time, set the volume, and you’re good to go.

Personally, I prefer Chrome apps that live in your dock over webapps because it frees up precious tab space in my main Chrome window.
