Readsy Makes It Easy To Focus And Speed-Read Online Articles

Readsy is a free web service that makes speed reading any online article or website easy. Just paste in the text or the URL, and the site guides you through a rapid reading of the content.

We’ve looked at the concept of speed reading before, and, while opinion is divided about how effective the technique is, it is something that works for many people.

Readsy makes use of the Sprintz service and displays words one at a time in quick succession. This in itself helps to reduce distractions and ensures that you are focused entirely on the words. Each word that appears has one letter coloured red to optimise eye position so you can absorb words at a glance.

Paste the URL of an article into Readsy and the main text will appear one word at a time before your eyes. You can also upload text and PDF files. The drop down menu lets you choose the speed at which words should be displayed — you’ll need to register for a free Spritz account if you want to go above 400 WPM.

Start slow, increase the speed gradually, and you should be able to build up an impressive reading rate.
