Patch Tuesday: It’s Reboot Time

Sometimes Patch Tuesday means that absolutely everyone — even the Server Core addicts — have no choice but to reboot. This is one of those months.

Microsoft’s latest round of patches, out now, includes seven updates covering Windows, Office, Internet Explorer and Lync. Three definitely require a restart; four probably do.

As Naked Security points out, the patches are also unusual in that one fixes a potential “tampering” vulnerability rather than the more familiar remote code execution. But whatever the flaw, you need to fix it. Time to start the patching and make a coffee . . .
