Echo Organises Android’s Notifications, Snoozes Them for Later

Android: Overrun with endless notifications? Echo makes things more manageable by grouping and prioritising the alerts you see.

The app groups notifications together in categories that make sense. Rather than a haphazard order, Echo collects together all social media-related notifications, all those that are work-related, and puts them in appropriate groups on your lock screen.

Echo also lets you dismiss notifications en masse or individually. You can choose between dismissing an alert, setting a reminder or postposing a notification, by simply swiping to the left or right. Swipe to the left to dismiss, swipe to the right to call up the reminder options. This is great for notifications you’re not interested in right now, but don’t want to forget about.

Install the app and select grant Echo Lockscreen Permission to access notifications. Tick the Use Echo Lock Screen option, and then tap Home to teach the app about your home location. Select the wireless network you connect to at home, and repeat for Work. This ensures that Echo displays the right notifications depending on where you are — although, in practice, you may find there are some occasional quirks.
