Customise Spotlight In iOS For Quicker Searches

Spotlight is an awesome way to search for stuff, launch apps and even quickly Google things in iOS. But it’s really only as good as you make it. Finer Things In Tech reminds us that to make it really useful, you’ll need to customise what Spotlight shows you.

You can make Spotlight faster and more useful by changing what it shows you and in what order. Head into Settings > General > Spotlight Search. Here, you’ll see what Spotlight searches for when you pull it up and in what order. Uncheck anything you don’t care about, then rearrange everything to suit your needs by grabbing the anchor on the side and moving it. I like to keep my apps at the top since I use that the most, followed by Contacts, then Music. I uncheck everything else, so Spotlight can do its job quick. Of course, how you set up yours is dependent on your needs, but it’s worth popping in and customising it if you haven’t already.
