You Can Now Put Google Play Purchases On Your Optus Bill

Post-paid Optus customers can now sign up for direct carrier billing on Google Play. Users can sign up to the service on their Android device via a one-off verification process and immediately begin shopping. All charges will then be automatically added to their monthly phone bill.

From today, Optus customers will be able to buy content from the Google Play Store and have the charges rolled onto their monthly phone bill automatically. Previously only available for Telstra customers, the service means you no longer have to buy Google Play cards or share your credit card information with Google before making a purchase.

The service is compatible with most Google Play content including movies, games, music, TV shows, ebooks, digital magazines and in-app purchases. Charges are capped at a maximum of $49.99 per transaction and $200 per month.

Customers can set up a monthly spending limit and add a pin for additional security. You can also cancel transactions and receive a full refund up to 15 minutes after making any purchase. All Google Play charges will be clearly listed on the customer’s Optus bill under Content Services.

Optus customers can sign up for direct billing by visiting Google Play on their smartphone or tablet and completing the validation process.
