Write About These Three Things Daily To Take Command Of Your Life

We’ve talked about the many benefits of keeping a journal. Author Chris Crowley says there are three specific things you should write about every day: your nutrition, exercise and goals.

Crowley, the author of Younger Next Year: Live Strong, Fit, and Sexy — Until You’re 80 and Beyond, shares his thoughts on keeping a daily log:

So keep a simple log in which you write down, every stinking day, these three things: 1) what I ate, 2) what I did for exercise (or didn’t), and 3) what I did with my life — sexually, socially, morally … whatever lights your fire. It is a tremendous help to know as you decide from minute to minute what do do, that ‘All Will Be Written’ and ‘All Will Be Known.’ It is a talismanic business, a sign that someone cares. Even if it’s just you.

We’ve talked about keeping track of these things before in the form of nutrition or exercise apps, but writing them down can be even simpler. If you keep track of what you’re eating, doing, and shooting for each day, it will help you stay on track that much more.
