Assistant.to Takes The Hassle Out Of Scheduling One-On-One Meetings

Scheduling any kind of meeting — whether it’s with a friend for coffee or a one-on-one with your boss — can be a pain. Assistant.to wants to take the back-and-forth out by making it a one-click affair. The service presents multiple options to your recipient, they choose, and it’s instantly added to everyone’s calendar.

Once you sign up for Assistant.to, all you have to do to schedule a meeting is create it in the web app, enter details about the meeting (the duration, where, any relevant links like Hangouts or online meeting services) and select a number of times you’re available. Hit send. Your recipient will get your message with a grid of potential meeting times at the bottom of the message. All they have to do is pick the one that works best for them, click the “Works for Me” link beneath it, and Assistant.to will automatically finalise the meeting, send the invite to everyone’s calendars (no matter what calendaring service you use), and fill in the relevant details so you don’t miss it.

If you — or they — need to reschedule, it’s easy to do from the original assistant.to link. You can suggest different times if you need to switch things up, or if your recipient needs to reschedule, they can always select another time to cancel the first meeting and schedule to the new time.

Assistant.to isn’t the only service that does this — we’ve previously mentioned Boomerang Calendar’s new features that are similar, among others. It’s also not perfect — your recipient can use any calendar they want, but you need to use Gmail (or have a Google Apps account) and Google Calendar. Plus, the service doesn’t handle meetings with multiple attendees just yet — it’s only useful for one-on-ones, or planning with one person. Hit the link below to read more, and check out their FAQ for more details before signing up. The service is completely free.
