Writebox Is A Minimalistic Notepad That Syncs With Dropbox

Web/Chrome/iOS/Android: Looking for a plain text editor that works in your browser and on your phone, while syncing with Dropbox or Google Drive? Meet Writebox!

We talked about Writebox briefly in our roundup of best Chrome apps you probably aren’t using but since then, it’s been upgraded to also include iOS and Android apps. Any text file you make syncs with a Dropbox or a Google Drive account, working across all devices so you can keep your notes in sync.

As a text editor, it is bare bones with a minimalistic interface. It’s just you and a blank sheet as the menu bar disappears after a few seconds. There are no formatting tools in Writebox but you can set the font and size to your liking in the settings. And whenever you want, you can download it as a text or HTML file, or sync it with your cloud accounts.

Writebox is free for the web and Chrome, so try it out there. And if you like it, it’s worth the $2.49 it asks for on iOS or $2.13 on Android to get you a synced notepad across your devices.
