When we shared some tips on cleaning your computer in a minute each day, Lifehacker reader Bat21 shared a brilliant tip: Use those tiny, bristled gum-cleaning brushes to clean your keyboard and other gadgets.

This works better than I could have expected. The bristles are small enough to really clean around and in between small spaces, and they’re firm enough to scoop out dust and dirt. The fact that they’re on a circular tip makes it even easier to slide them between keys, cables, or around a port or slot and get the dust out — even the dusty grooves on the underside of an oft-used mouse are no match for it.
If you buy enough to clean your gums at the same time, you can probably spare one or two to clean your computer equipment when the need arises. Thanks for the tip, Bat21!
