Use These Three Steps To Boost Your Learning Skills

If you’re struggling to learn a new skill on your own, coder Cory House shares his three basic steps that help him retain information.

House’s steps should come as no surprise to anyone who has done a lot of independent learning, but they’re still good to keep in mind when you’re trying to pick up a new skill:

  1. Watch someone
  2. Try it yourself and experiment
  3. Teach someone else

The idea here is to watch a skilled person work through something, try it for yourself, and then share that knowledge with a friend, on a blog, or wherever else. It’s a solid, classic formula, but it works well.
