‘Complaining Does Not Work As A Strategy’

“If you took one-tenth the energy you put into complaining and applied it to solving the problem, you’d be surprised by how well things can work out… Complaining does not work as a strategy. We all have finite time and energy. Any time we spend whining is unlikely to help us achieve our goals. And it won’t make us happier.” – Randy Pausch

You may remember Randy Pausch from his famous YouTube video and book “The Last Lecture” in which he imparted his wisdom to his students and eventually to much of the world, before succumbing to a fight with cancer. If anyone had the right to complain, it was him. But he didn’t. He made change instead. Next time you want to complain, consider how you might turn it into something productive.
