Wikipedia Launches Media Viewer And New Fonts In New Beta Features

Wikipedia is following in the tradition of Google Labs by now allowing users to try out Beta Features for its site. All of the new features are opt-in, and some are really worth checking out.

Two of the most interesting new beta features are the revamped Media Viewer, which acts as a light box for thumbnail pictures on the site (a welcome improvement over clicking to a whole new page, which the rest of the internet left behind six years ago). Additionally, you can try out a new look for fonts with the Typography Update.

Overall, the changes aren’t revolutionary, but you can check out all the new beta features at the link below if you’d like to take them for a spin.
