Google began unifying messaging, video chat and photos in Hangouts this year, but now it has finally taken the next step. Your Hangouts app now supports SMS messages, as well as one-tap location sharing.
The details are still very unclear, but this is a feature many Hangouts users have been clamouring for, and it’s nice to see it won’t be limited to Android KitKat. We’ll update you with more details when the new version rolls out. In the meantime, check out Google’s official blog post for more info.
