The imminent announcement of new iPhones tomorrow is likely to lead to a flood of people selling their old devices. According to eBay Australia, you’ll be in a competitive field but one with potentially high rewards: the average price for an iPhone 5 on eBay is $550, and has only dropped by $50 in the six months since march.
While the iPhone no longer dominates the smartphone market, it remains the go-to device in the eBay world. According to eBay Australia, on average 15 iPhones per hour have been purchased in the period since April. The equivalent figure for Samsung Galaxy handsets is 5 phones per hour.
We’ve long known that selling your phone via eBay generates more money than using a send-it-in service, and that still remains the case. Ensure you keep your phone in good condition and retain all packaging and accessories to maximise the potential price.

Usually attempting to offload something that’s about to become the ‘old model’ for almost the same price you paid is laughable but this is one of the exceptions.
You have to give credit to apple for ‘creating’ a product that retains it’s value, although a lot of the reason is due to their business strategy of only having 1 ‘current’ phone- It’s sort of like Saffron, it is what it is, and the supply is somewhat controlled.
No, it’s still laughable.
It is because they don’t add anything to new versions of the iPhone. They just increment the number. The iPhone 3 approximately equals iPhone 6, you will still look like a hipster poser with either model.
Considering that image shows BRAND NEW iPhones being sold, is the average price REALLY for used iPhone 5’s? Last I checked USED iPhone 5’s werent going for much (if at all)
I sold my black, 64gb, network unlocked iPhone on eBay for $720 inluding shipping. I had all packaging, and the phone didn’t have any visible marks on it.
