• Nokia has announced an Australian release date for its latest flagship smartphone, the Lumia 1020. The new Windows phone — which boasts a 41-megapixel camera sensor, a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA display and a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor — will arrive in Australia on 17th September through Telstra. Optus customers will be able to get their hands on the device from October 1. It will also be available from Harvey Norman, Allphones and Dick Smith and will carry an RRP of $899. • In other smartphone news, Apple has sent out its invitations for a special event on September 10; all but confirming that the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will be officially unveiled on this date.
