If $869 and up for the new iPhone 5s is too rich for your blood, Friday 20 September also sees the cheaper iPhone 5c go on sale in Australia. And if that’s still too pricey, there’s also a bargain-priced 8GB iPhone 4S to be had.

The much-rumoured 5c comes in five colours: blue, green, pink, yellow and white. To add to the colour riot, there are six silicone cases specifically designed for the model. It runs iOS7, but uses a cheaper A6 processor. Like the 5s, it will include iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers and Keynote for iOS for free.

Optus, Telstra and Vodafone will all be selling it, as well as Apple stores. For an outright buy, you’ll pay $739 for the 16GB model or $869 for the 32GB model. There is no 64GB version. The new 8GB iPhone 4S is a somewhat cheaper buy at $529.

8MB?
Typo fixed. An 8MB iPhone would presumably be cheaper 🙂
Claiming the iPhone 4S is a bargain at $529 is bullshit; Nexus 4 at $300 is a bargain. Lumia 920 at $400~ is a bargain. Xperia Z at $500 is a bargain.
An 8GB Nexus 4 is $249 on Google Play. Total bargain for what amounts to an overall high end Android phone with small storage.
$500 is a bargain but $529 isn’t? I get what your saying though, $529 is not as much of a bargain as the $249 nexus, but by iPhone standards it is.
I think its more the fact that he considers the Xperia Z to be a better phone as the 4S.
