There are few ways to really get sushi wrong. But if you want to up your game, this infographic from I Love Coffee, and illustrated by The Oatmeal, can help you enjoy your sushi experience more.
The main tip at the top of the comic is a great one: start with the lighter, more delicate fish, and then move on to the darker and fattier ones. You’ll give yourself the chance to enjoy the lighter flavours of the white fish without overwhelming your taste buds with the fatty richness of tuna. If you do want to dig right in for the salmon or the tuna, chow down on a piece of pickled ginger between pieces — it acts as a palate cleanser.
The graphic even gets into proper sushi-dipping technique and reminds you not to get your rice all bogged down with soy sauce to the point where you can’t even taste the fish. The suggestion not to rub your chopsticks together (and the fact that tuna and fatty tuna are actually from the same fish) are also good to know the next time you head out to your favourite sushi restaurant.

i always like the point about the chop sticks…
if theya re low quality and you rub them, how can the chef take offence?
if they are high quality, they won’t be rubbed and they won’t take offence!
maybe if people do this (rub them) they will get better chopsticks that are high quality?
I think the point is that people see it in movies and think its just something you’re meant to do when you seperate a pair of chopsticks.
If it needs to be done, who cares about the restaurateurs ‘feelings’ heh..
Cheap chopsticks are so annoying -_- Half the time they break half way up so I end up with a teeny chopstick and another that’s twice as wide at the top. >.>
