Google Drive Adds Search To Hyperlink Insert Boxes For Faster Research

A handy new feature for Google Drive: you can now insert links to search results directly from within Drive itself.

The feature is currently rolling out to users (as with most Google updates, you may not see it immediately). Simply select some text and select “Insert link”.

The link box will appear as you’d expected, but in addition to being able to paste in a link that’s already on the clipboard or to another document, you can also perform a search and link directly to the results. It’s a small change, but a welcome one.
