Build Your Own GameBoy-Sized Handheld With A BeagleBone

Build Your Own GameBoy-Sized Handheld With A BeagleBone

The GameBoy is a classic piece of equipment. If you want to live those glory days with a bit more power, blogger Max Thrun shows off how to turn a BeagleBone Black computer into a handheld device that can play a wide range of games.

As you’d probably expect, this isn’t a simple project, but it’s doable if you know some electronics basics. You’ll need to do a lot of soldering and make your own circuits. You’ll also need to send it off to have the case built for you. Once you’re done, you’ll have a tiny handheld system that can play NES, GameBoy, Sega and more. The thing’s even smaller than a GameBoy.
