Build A Good-Looking Concrete Computer Desk

Build A Good-Looking Concrete Computer Desk

If your home office could use an upgrade, or you’re tired of particle board computer desks, perhaps a poured concrete desk is what your workspace needs. Instructables user smassco shows us that while it takes a little planning, a concrete desk it surprisingly easy to make.

This definitely is more than a weekend project, but if you like the look of concrete countertops or polished concrete floors, you can get the same effect for your computer desk if you have the space and time for the project. You can acquire everything you need at the local hardware store, including the concrete itself, and smassco walks you through the whole process at the link below.

You’ll need a lot of concrete to make it happen though, and you’ll need wood and foam to make your mould. From there though, it’s just a matter of mixing and pouring the concrete and getting some friends to help you lift, flip and remove the mould when it’s all firmed up.

The original plan was to redo the countertops with poured concrete, but smassco decided to make a desk first just to get familiar with the process — and the end product looks great. Plus, the desk surface has that shiny polished look without any actual polishing required. Hit the link below for the full how-to.
