Avoid These Appointment Times To Skip The Wait At The Doctor

We previously noted that you want to book a doctor’s appointment at 8am or 1pm to skip the wait, but it turns out there are a few times you really want to avoid as well. Doctor finder ZocDoc dug up some interesting data that demonstrates the best and worst times.

Here’s how it all breaks down:

  • The single most popular appointment time slot is Friday at 10 am, followed by Monday at 2 pm.

  • Tuesday is the most popular day to see the doctor, and it is also the day with the most last-minute openings.

  • Weekdays at 10am and 2pm are the most popular time slots across the board, so book outside those times if you’re looking to snag an appointment quickly.

  • As people get back into the weekday groove, Monday is the day with most same-day appointments booked.

  • The day of the week with shortest in-office wait time is Monday and the longest in-office wait time is Thursday.

That fits in with our original findings, but it adds a lot of important details. Some doctors like to book multiple patients in a given time slot. For this reason, show up early if you can. Not only will that give you time to fill out any necessary forms, but you’ll get seen before the others. You can’t always beat the wait at the doctor, but you can minimise it with the right approach.
