Thunderspace Helps You Relax With An Immersive Thunderstorm Experience

iOS: We’ve shared a few apps that play nature sounds to help you relax, but Thunderspace takes the idea a step further. Start the app and put on headphones, and you experience an immersive stereoscopic thunderstorm, complete with stereo 3D audio and flashing lights in sync with the thunder and lightning you hear.

Many people find thunderstorms relaxing, so the developers (also the team behind weather app we love) wanted to recreate the experience as truthfully as possible. The audio is full 3D stereo and designed to work with headphones. Once you start the thunderstorm, you’ll hear rain falling, but if you put your phone screen-down on a table, the app uses your phone’s flash to simulate lightning, in perfect sync with the audio.

We tested the app out, and the audio tracks are pretty long and looped well enough that you probably won’t notice when it repeats. If you do get tired of the two thunderstorm tracks that come with the app, there are six more available as in-app purchases. The app is $0.99 in the iTunes App Store, and you can grab it (or read more about the app) at the link below.
