Repair A Lawnmower Starter Cord With A Bucket Handle

If the handle on your lawnmower starter cord ever breaks off, a bucket handle can fill in as a perfect replacement.

Just cut the handle off of an old bucket, and tie the starter cord to it as securely as you can. Many large buckets include a very sturdy moulded plastic handle, and if you’re lucky, it will even be porous so you can feed the cord straight through.

Hopefully, you won’t have to use this tip very often, but it’s a good one to file away just in case. While you’re doing some lawn mower maintenance, it might also be worth taking a few minutes to sharpen the blades.
