The Samsung Galaxy S4 Has Been Rooted

Today’s the day the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in-store at various telco outlets and what better way to celebrate the acquisition of your fancy new Android-powered gadget than rooting it for added flexibility?

The good news is you don’t have to wait, with Ausdroid providing all the files and instructions you need to crack the device open — well, on the software side anyway. All you need to do is download an archive, updated some drivers (if required) and run a batch file / script, depending on your desktop operating system.

If you plan to root your S4, feel free to comment. Being stuck with an iPhone 4 at the moment, I’m curious as to the main benefits of rooting an Android device — the S4 in particular.
