Reeder For iPhone Gets Standalone RSS And Feedbin Support

iOS: Reeder is our pick for the best RSS reader on the iPhone, but with the demise of Google Reader it wasn’t clear what would happen to it. An update to the iPhone app reveals a little of the future, with Reeder adding support for RSS client Feedbin and standalone RSS management.

The big update here is the support for Feedbin, a $US2/month subscription RSS reader that’s clean and easy to use. With Feedbin, Reeder will go on working just as it did with Google Reader as we approach the 1 July deadline for Reader shutting down. The standalone RSS support is also a handy addition, but you can’t sync what you’ve read across devices. It’s a small step, but hopefully the iPad and Mac apps will see the same updates soon.
