Brief news items of note for Lifehacker readers, including Australia’s newly announced dietary guidelines, a review of Kogan’s budget Agora Smartphone and the coolest Russian meteorite video you will ever see.

  • The latest Australian Dietary Guidelines were released today by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). • Our Gizmodo colleagues have just finished reviewing the Kogan Agora Smartphone; a 5in ‘phablet’ Android device that costs just $149. Read the review to find out why it’s the best bang-for-buck Android on the market.
  • The developer of the Halo video game franchise has come out against PC shooter fans, claiming nobody plays shooters with a mouse-and-keyboard anymore. The Bungie co-founder made the remarks while talking about the upcoming first-person shooter, Destiny. One for the console set, then.
  • This video of a meteorite streaking across the sky in Russia before crashing to Earth was first brought to our attention by Gizmodo. It’s been doing the rounds for a few days now, but we thought it was worth posting for those of you who haven’t seen it yet. Wait for the bang!
