Download Adobe Creative Suite 2 For Free

Windows/Mac: If you're not in need of the latest and greatest image-editing software, Adobe is currently offering the 2005 version of its Creative Suite for free, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

To get the free download, you need a free Adobe Member account. Once you sign up (the member application page is a bit slow this morning) you can download the entire suite or individual applications for free. You can get:

  • Adobe Creative Suite CS 2
  • Acrobat 3D
  • Acrobat Standard 7.0
  • Acrobat Pro 8.0
  • Audition 3.0
  • GoLive
  • Illustrator
  • InCopy
  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Photoshop Elements
  • Adobe Premier Pro

The software is a bit outdated at this point, but if you have an older computer, or you simply don't need all the new bells and whistles, CS2 will fit your needs. The suite has a little trouble running on newer operating systems, but check out the Slickdeals forum thread for some tips on getting it working on Windows 8 and new Mac operating systems.

The "deal" is not as it seems..
It's actually a workaround for Adobe turning off their Activation server. Licenced users could download versions of CS2 software without requiring Activation.
Seems Adobe are now re-considering how to roll out this solution to legitimate licensees only as the download page is now gone. (links are still up though, if you have/can find the direct download link)

D/L page still accessible I think, but no 'official' word from Adobe just a few comments from staff in forums. I've posted a 'plea' to execs to reconsider - would actually be a brilliant move by them if they did. I've got CS3 web ... but would happily grab CS2 for InDesign and Premiere if they make it 'legit'

Interestingly most of these apps either don't install or don't run under Win8 (Photoshop, InDesign don't retain serial; Premiere won't even install).
