Reader Seth Cecil put together this simple home screen with just a few widgets and some gestures that add more functionality when needed.
Here’s what Seth is using:
- The AOKP_Toro_Unofficial_Dec-11-12 (Android Open Kang Project) ROM for the Galaxy Nexus LTE with Nova Launcher Prime
- The Minimalist icon pack
- A wallpaper from the AOKP repository
- The Simple Calendar widget
- Circle Battery Widget around the clock
- The navigation bar is hidden, but Seth uses LMT Launcher to enable gestures that access different commands
Seth comments on how he uses the screen:
With Nova Launcher prime I use gestures, swipe up for the app drawer and swipe down for the notification shade. The screen is simple and clean and easy to navigate. All the things I need are right at my fingertips. I only use one screen, I’ve never been one to have many widgets or screens up.
Just in case anyone wants to know, Toro is the Sprint (USA) version of the Galaxy Nexus. Anyone who wants to try it needs the Maguro version.
