The Big Text Android Home Screen

We’ve seen a lot of text-based home screens, but Lifehacker reader painfulpunches does something a little different for those that don’t want to waste time reading the fine print. Here’s what it looks like.

A friend of mine asked me to design a launcher setup for his mother who was becoming quite visually impaired and was also a complete technophobe. i ended up really liking the cleanness of the whole thing and keeping it as my setup too.

The ROM is CM10 For Htc One S (Ville). The Icons are all custom images made in Photoshop using a font called Revolution II. I used Desktop VisualizeR to place and space them. (play.google.com)

The battery monitor is Circle Battery Widget, which just by chance happened to fit around the outside of the default Android 4.2 analogue Clock Widget.

The Launcher is Nova Launcher Prime, and swiping up toggles the notification bar, whereas swiping down expands notifications.

Needless to say I left these features out of my friends mum’s version.
