Gift Guide: Mobile Phones

Ring in the festive season by buying a loved one a phone they’ll truly enjoy. There are great options at your beck and call for every platform. Christmas+smartphone=awesome!

Google Nexus 4 ($399)

OK, the Nexus 4 keeps selling out, and you’ll have to be a slightly lucky elf to actually order one between now and Christmas Eve. Motorola Razr HD

If you want Android and you want battery life, this phone is the clear choice; Gizmodo notes that even with heavy usage, two days between charges was possible. It’s a Telstra exclusive until the end of the year.

Nokia Lumia 920

The iPhone 5 isn’t the most interesting big screen in town. If you want a larger screen for video consumption or casual scribbling, the Note II is an impressive piece of equipment. The large size also gives it impressive battery life, and its performance is much stronger than the original Note.
