The Drop-In Converted Wool Store Workspace

In a former life, the headquarters for Sydney-based PR company Espresso Communications was a wool storage facility. That heritage is still evident in the open beams, but a glass-filled conversion has created a workspace that’s equally welcoming to staff and drop-in visitors.

We’re highlighting this workspace during our National Telework Week coverage because part of the design philosophy was to create an office where clients, journalists and others could easily drop in to work if they happened to be near the office (which is close to the Sydney CBD). The glassed-in boardroom separates the main staff area from the visitor lounge, meaning people can work without feeling they’re intruding on the main space.
