Google Expands Search Field Trial To Include Google Drive

Back in August, we told you about a Google trial which included results from your Gmail account in Google search results. Google is now expanding the opt-in trial to give you the ability to search files in your Google Drive as well.

Depending on your usage of Drive and your attitude to privacy, this could be a useful option. You can sign up for the trial through the link below.

We’ll emphasise again that this is an opt-in trial, not a general feature everyone will have access to, and that signing up for the trial won’t guarantee the feature will always be available. (As with the previous trial, it also only works with Google accounts associated with Gmail addresses; Google Apps users aren’t eligible.)
