ToutApp Brings Email Tracking To Outlook

Windows: ToutApp, one of our favourite tools to keep our Gmail inboxes under control, unveiled an Outlook plugin today that offers many of the same features for users of Microsoft Outlook on the desktop. It lets you see when recipients have read emails you’ve sent them, schedules messages and uses built-in templates for faster composing.

As well as keeping track of how long it takes the recipient to open your message, the new ToutApp for Outlook tells you how many times the email has been read, and whether the recipient actually opened attachments or clicked any links you’ve included.

The service also makes composing lengthy status reports and memos easier by saving templates (somewhat similar to Gmail’s canned responses). ToutApp will even attach files for you automatically or fill in people who need to be copied or blind copied based on the template. You can also tell it to hold emails and send it at a specific time — and you don’t need to leave Outlook open for that to happen.

To use ToutApp for Outlook, you’ll have to download and install the plugin, and then sign up for a ToutApp account. The service has a free plan you can sign up for here, but if you work in a team, you may want to check out the pro plans, which start at $US30 per month. Along with the Outlook plugin, ToutApp also unveiled analytics that lets businesses see when visitors come by their site, and what they read on it.
