LG Optimus L7: iPrimus Gets First Aussie Dibs

We’ve known that LG’s Optimus L7 phone was coming to Australia since Mobile World Congress back in February. Somewhat surprisingly, the first carrier to officially announce LG’s 4.3-inch Ice Cream Sandwich phone isn’t one of the big three telcos, but internet service provider iPrimus.

iPrimus is offering the Optimus L7 on its $39 ‘No Worries’ plan, which offers unlimited Australian calls and texts and 2GB data a month over a 24-month contract. iPrimus uses the Optus network, and includes that network’s usual “no data charges for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and even MySpace” option. That’s a reasonable deal, though it’s worth noting that since Mobicity already has the L7 on offer unlocked for $259, you could easily sign up for a month-to-month plan with a more generous data offering and not be tied down for two years.
