DIY Hack Lets You Stream Music Outdoors


Good music makes a big difference when you’re entertaining outside. This IKEA hack combines a butcher block with an outdoor amp and Apple AirPort Express for easy streaming to outdoor speakers.

To replicate Brian’s project detailed on TheNerdBoard, you need to cut out a hole for the amplifier in the side of the table, and then attach the power strip and Airport Express to the underside. Then, run your wires to your outdoor speakers.

The nice thing about this project — besides the convenient wireless streaming — is that it hides all the components in the trolley — and you can still use the table as, well, an outdoor table. Get the full walkthrough at the link below.
